9.10.12 Evening

11 years ago, My family was in a car accident.  I will never forget the sounds of the work-van crashing through the back of my Saturn.  I will never forget the impact that night had on us.  My son was only an infant and his car seat defiantly protected him. I recall being pulled out and placed on a backboard and  lying there for hours.  I recall seeing my children's father, laying down as the impact broke the driver seat.  This was a scary night.  That night, we thought it was the worst thing that happened in our lives.
Then we woke up to a plane crashing through one of the twin towers and watched in horror as the second plane hit.  I recall being grateful for the car accident that we were in, for that meant we were all together.  Having family that worked in NY and family that worked near Washington, I watched paralyzed waiting to hear from everyone.   A friend came to pick us up and take us to the chiropractor that afternoon.  I remember being so terrified as to what this meant for the world around us.
I did a lot of questioning those days following.  I questioned how this could happen.  How could there be such evil in this world to destroy so many innocent lives?! I have friends who lost family and friends on 9/11/01 and every day I think about the children who said goodbye to their mom or dad before going to school, only to never see, hear, or touch them again.I cannot imagine what anyone felt and those who were on the phone with their loved ones still gives me goosebumps.  I have never liked airplanes to be in NYC and hear a plane flying overhead still paralyzes me. It took a long time for me to go into NYC.  I have already said I am a fearful person.
Tonight before you go to sleep, think about what you were doing 11 years ago, and how did you change the next morning? Perhaps tomorrow morning you may decide to make more changes.
It does not matter who you plan to vote for in November, what matters is that We are AMERICAN and show how UNITED we are and STAND together!!! Tomorrow morning when we awaken again on a Tuesday morning.  We will be different, we will show no fear we will continue to live our lives as a tribute to those who lost theirs.  We will remember Patriot Day.  Remember those who risk their lives  on a daily basis not only to PROTECT us and provide us with the Freedom to do as we wish, but to save us and our possessions.  Remember those who go in the opposite direction and thank them.  Most of all Thank our Lord, for giving you the day to be able to do all of this.
